the weather has affected my mood.
but in a good way.

i have the dishes done,
two loads of laundry started.

i have been working in a spiral

of the year...i like how low key and
easy it is.
so i may just get messy with that.

my book.

i imagine in a few months i will
be over my obsession for a while.

today was a bit gloomy
i liked it.
i'm reading a million little pieces.
i finished both
promise me
(for a book club)
and
the kept woman
(for my pleasure)
last week
and i forgot to take a new book
to work to read during lunch/breaks.
a million little pieces was sitting on the
break room table
so i picked it up.

initially i wasn't going to read the book
after all the controversy over it.
but i decided just to go with it.
to look at it as fiction.
and enjoy.

it's pretty gritty
but i am liking it so far.

other than that
like i said
nothing going on in texas.

i've started looking for
this year's flip flops
(ie: chanklas!!)
no luck so far.
i did find some flats the other day
v. cute blue ballet flats with tiny
white polka dots...so adore.

this week is spring break with the girl one
and i have to work tues-thurs...
at least i have mon and fri, huh??
looking forward to getting a few pics of her.
i have so few and i want to remember this time
in her life..she seems to be blossoming right before
our eyes.

it's my day off!!
actually it's the first
of my four consecutive days off...
and i am ambitious.

hubby started the cleaning the other day
bless him, the man dusted!!
and today we've already tackled cleaning
out our closet
and i have gotten two loads of laundry done.
dang we're a good team.

maybe later i'll finish the bucks ATCs.

the girl one asked what i was doing
and i told her i was making cards
for the bucks group i was in.
she looked at me like i was a kindergardener
eating my glue
then turned to her daddy and said:
"that's obsessive, when you'll join a club
because of a drink."

hmmm.
i don't feel obsessed.
just a wee bit silly.

work is kicking my butt this week.
in a good way, of course.
because everyne knows i loove
to organize and make things tidy...
so i don't mind the long hours too much.
i'm just learning how to fit home life in.

in short: i'm tired but happy.

when we were downtown last week.
the boy one snatched the other.
it is permanently on his backpack.

a girlfriend of mine sent me a text
to let me know she picked up a new obama
tee for me when she was in austin yest.
so giddy. i can't wait to see what it looks like!!

today was a trying day.
family drama reared it's ugly head again,
which leaves me feeling like i will NEVER
have a healthy relationship with my mother.
grr.

but i am willing to accept it and move on.
it's just a damn shame.

it's the beginning of the weekend
and i find myself continuing to
be hopeful.
the birds are chirping
the sun is trying to peek through the clouds
there are lemon muffins on the counter
and the only chore i have today is laundry.
even that is not gonna take away my
rainbows and glitter feeling today!


i must say, it'd been hard for me to
see the light at the end of the tunnel
for quite a while.
when we decided to quit the air force
to move home last year
we didn't expect things to be so hard.
with all of hubby's education
and pristine air force record
we figured we be settled and
he'd have a job in no time.

while it didn't happen as easily
(or as quickly!!)
as we wanted, we are now
both employed
and can breathe a bit easier.

while we'll still need to move home
once our lease is up in september,
at least we know where we'll stand.
and once bff moves to san antonio
things will be right in my world.
