the wonderful hubby invited people over this weekend.
and my house is less than "home-y" right now.
so i am scrambling
trying to make sense of all of the little pieces
that have made their way into our homes over the years.

i need to find my "style" sense, i think.
i like what i like, and unfortunately,
i like a lot of different things.

now i have to figure out how to make them fit.

on my ONE day off where i get to sleep in a bit?

we finally finished painting downstairs.
we still have the hall upstairs,
but i think that'll be taken care of
later this summer.
by the boy one and girl one.
i'm all for child labor.
when it means i get a pretty wall
out of it.

& who the heck tore MAY out of my calendar
i wasn't finished with all that i needed to do
before my summer began!!

now here it is 7:03 pm and
i still have to clean off my desk
so i can start playing with my supplies again.



oh, how i miss getting my hands all
inky.

because we have been
cleaning both homes,
ready-ing the other house
for the new tennants,
and getting this one
as close to my standards
as is humanly possible right now.

oh,
i also started my full time job.
(going good!!)
and i am still doing the carpool
in the early mornings.
yeah.
up at 6am
to bed by midnight most nights
so far.

update on the casa.


they're replacing the carpet
in the girl's room next week
(that was the worst of it).
and *this summer* the owner
is installing hardwood floors on
the bottom floor!!

can i get a hell yeah?!

we've got our work cut out for
us in the "yard"
but i like to play in the dirt, so
i don't mind that as much.
talk to me in a few weeks
and we'll see if it's still okay.

i have researched online for applicable laws.
but i can only find a phrase that says they
must provide "sanitary" conditions.
other than that they don't seem to have to do anything.
and we are in a time crunch here.
and i find myself battling the giant.
